Role in plants

Vanadium can substitute for molybdenum in some nitrogen-fixing systems and may stimulate growth at very low concentrations.

Deficiency symptoms

• Not well defined
• Reduced nitrogen metabolism efficiency in responsive species

Toxicity symptoms

• Growth suppression
• Leaf chlorosis and necrosis at elevated levels
